Downtown Skyport will serve as a multi-modal sustainable transportation hub.

All-Electric Aircraft

The Future of Flight is Here

Electric Vertical Take-Off and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft represent the next wave of aviation—promising quieter, greener, and more efficient mobility in New York City's skies.

These all-electric aircraft are designed to reduce noise pollution, cut carbon emissions, and unlock a new era of sustainable urban air mobility.

As the city prepares for the future, Downtown Skyport is proud to be at the forefront, supporting the integration of eVTOLs into the fabric of NYC’s airspace and transportation infrastructure.

Blue Highways

A Gateway to Greener Logistics

In the future, Downtown Skyport will serve as more than just an aviation hub. It’s also poised to become one of the first nodes of New York City’s Blue Highways initiative, a marine micro-distribution network designed to move freight more sustainably.

By shifting freight from congested roadways to NYC’s waterways, and using electric cargo bikes and e-quad vehicles for last-mile delivery, it will help reduce reliance on dirty, polluting trucks on the city’s streets.

Over time, this intiative will support cleaner air, quieter streets, and a more resilient urban logistics ecosystem—right at the foot of Lower Manhattan.

Downtown Skyport is excited to be working with its partners at NYCEDC, New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT), and last-mile delivery service providers like DutchX to launch the first-of-its-kind micro-distribution hub in NYC.
